About Me

Geez, what to say… what to say….

Well, here’s the number one thing:  If I know it, I’ll tell you, whether you ask for it or not.  And if it so happens that I don’t know it, I will both a: know where to find it, and b: will find it out for you. This is why I am a self-proclaimed professional TES nerdy turdy.

My Sob Story:

I started playing Elder Scrolls when Morrowind came out for the Xbox back in 2001.  How did I hear about it?  Toonami.  I was 11 at the time.  The review Bob and Cortana (or whoever) did about it sold me.  When I heard about Tribunal and Bloodmoon coming out for the PC, I sent an email to the “guys” over at Bethesda that they should make BM and TB available for the consoles, too.  They said they didn’t know if that was possible– it’s called dual layer, people.  Anyway it happened months later with no thanks to me.  Oh, they called it the GOTY edition. lol  I bought it, ’cause I wanted that snow so bad, but it was so crash happy on my 1st gen Xbox (Thompson drive) that it was unplayable.  I couldn’t bring myself to crack open the Xbrick and put in a Samsung drive.  I wasn’t old enough for working papers yet, so I was broke.

Then, Oblivion came out.  I ran out during Spring break of 2006, the week after my birthday, to buy myself that beautiful $60 Collector’s Edition at Target.  I was sure I could run it on that hunk of junk PC at home with 256MD RAM,  Intel Extreme Graphics card, and a processor speed of 1.2Ghz.  Okay, stop laughing.  At first, I couldn’t get it to even RUN.  I had to go out and get another two 500MB of RAM to swap out the 256MB for a resounding 1GB of RAM to even get it to crawl.  And boy, did it crawl. My motherboard only had PCI and not PCI-e so that was that.  I wound up having to return the damned thing, because I found it too depressing and useless to keep around.  That of course was after arguing with the customer service desk at Target about why they should take it back.  I can’t/have no use to burn a copy of the game because it laughs in the face of my PC’s specs!!!  They must have felt bad for me and caved.

Distraught, I wound up buying the PC’s Morrowind GOTY some time later for $30 over at Best Buy or Circuit City.  Lagged quite a bit on my Sony Vaio purchased in 2000, but it was playable, and I was so,  so happy to be back in the game.

The saddest part about this whole thing is that I have only met three people in the 9 years I’ve been familiar with the series that have actually played it.  One constantly taunted me about my sub-par PC, the other played through MW and TB and never spoke of it again, and the third refuses to play MW but played through the OB MQ due to my constant nagging.  Is there really no one like me?

Modding TES:

I picked up modding for the series back in 2008.  It’s not really my thing– I’m not a texturer or a modeler or a scripter or anything.  I do know my way around the CS though, can make working mods, even if they’re only on par with all the other “my first mod”s.  Currently, I’m working on a large(ish)-scale Oblivion romancible companion mod that’s not based off CM Partners and will cater to both male and female PCs as there are intended to be 5 companions.  I also intend to do the female dialogue voice overs myself.  God knows if I’ll ever finish it– It’s a rather ambitious task and I’ve never scripted before, but it’s slowly coming along with the help of the CS wiki.  Even if I never get to finish the actual companion component of it, there is a fully mapped and furnished mansion finished which I might just wind up releasing with companion compatibility if this doesn’t pan out.

My Released Mods:

My voice talent is featured in the following mods:

Other TES:

I’m working on a series of videos regarding TES in respect to lore, game comparisons, and other types of video blogs.  As of now, they are unposted and are tucked snugly away on my hard drive, but I fully intend to post them eventually.  When they are posted, they will be under the username klibanktz on Youtube.  (“KlibanKatz” username is permanently disabled because I posted covers of Japanese music, but that one was mine, too. D= )

I also have a Fanfiction.net account which currently hosts 3 Elder Scrolls fanfictions.  Don’t be mislead by the belief that FF.net only hosts mediocre fiction anymore– you should know me better! T_T  One is short and complete and the other is 20+ chapters and ongoing.  My pen name is KlibanKatz, as always, and here is the permalink: link.

With all that said, here’s my list-o-crap:

  • TES V: Skyrim (Xbox 360)
  • TES III: Morrowind (Xbox)
  • TES III: Morrowind GOTY (Xbox)
  • The Morrowind Prophecies
  • The Morrowind Prophecies GOTY
  • Oblivion Collector’s Edition
  • Oblivion GOTY Prima Guide
  • Morrowind Soundtrack
  • Oblivion Soundtrack
  • The Art of Morrowind

With Love,

Kliban Katz
